Interconnectivity between film and urban space are undoubtedly intimate as the film is a visual media showing life story for the audience to relate to, therefore its scenes are supposed to be directed to describe its situation, ambience, and emotion without further explanations. This research is an attempt to find how urban park landscape has been used in modern films as cinematic apparatus, by analyzing and collating various modern films shot in The Mall, Central Park, New York city. By arranging and exploring situations and atmospheres of scenes in diverse composition and display, the research is expected to interpret urban park landscape not just as locational function for a background component but also the expression of its place’s identity to articulate various sequences to the top.
